Broadoak would recommend one of two systems recognised by BS8102:
Cemititious tanking which uses multiple coats of render which is applied to the walls and floor to create a tank to stop the ingress of water. This system is commonly known as Tanking.
Cavity drain membrane which uses a polyethylene convoluted sheet which is pinned to the walls and floors to resist the penetration of water which drains off to a pump which is then excludes the water to a drain. This system is popular as it reduces the water table pressure around the basement.
The internal finish can be dry lined and skimmed over for a smooth finish ready for decoration.
